Below is evidence of the different PD days I have been a part of recently.

Professional Development

Discovering the Leader in Me Training

Before the school year began St. Kateri Staff and I attended the first Leader in Me training of the 2017-2018 year. We were provided with tips and resources on how to implement the Leader in Me in our classroom and entire school.

Creating Culture- Leader in Me Training

For one of our professional development days St. Kateri Staff and I attended the Creating Culture workshop. We were shown different ways to create the leader in my culture around our school.

At the beginning of the school year I was part of this nonviolent crisis intervention program. I learned specifically about the CPI Crisis Development Model and I also got to observe different nonviolent techniques. This training also gave me an opportunity to try different self defence and holds with guided support.

ATA Convention

On October 27th we had our local ATA Convention. The first speaker we got to listen to was Dr. Yong Zhao. His presentation was on Reaching for Greatness: Personalizable Education for All.

The main focus of his presentation was helping us as educators enhance our students individual strengths and passions.

The picture on the left are a few of my quick notes from the presentation.

Below is images of the resources I received from one of the two sessions I chose to participate in. The AM session I registered in was Creating a Technology Infused Classroom. This was an interesting sessions as I got to learn about many different applications and learn about the SAMR Model for Technology Integration. I found this to be a great resource to use for future classes.

The following images below are resources from the PM session I participated in. This sessions was Make Me a Maker and was all about the Maker Movement. I found it to be very interesting and I found I could use ideas from this resource and incorporate them in my future classroom.

Our final speaker of the day was Vince Gowman. His presentation was about Remembering to Play. I really enjoyed this one as he reminded us that there is nothing wrong with play and being silly. It opened my eyes and made me think about how we can get caught up with teaching the curriculum and forget about having some fun with our students.

To the right is an image of some of the notes I took from his presentation.

KSA's Addressed

KSA:

A-Above is evidence of the different concepts I would like to incorporate into my future classroom. All of these professional development sessions have allowed me to learn and alter my teaching practice.

J-On this page I also have a list of resources of different technologies/applications I would like to use in my classroom. In the technology infused section it has a list of different applications for researching, managing information, and word processes. The paper resource I have lists different applications for numerous age groups from K-12.

N-As well as going to these specific professional development events I also have attended all the teacher meetings we have had throughout the year. These meetings have been about our school goals and how we can make our school better.

O-On this page there are numerous resources I have obtained through the different professional development sessions. These have helped me continue to be a life-long learner. What I have included on this page is the ideas that I would like to try in my classroom.

Q-The evidence provided above demonstrates my ability to achieve the Teaching Quality Standard.
