Light & Shadows Unit

Sun Shadows Lesson
Shadow Assessment

My Channel
Once each student created their own individual video I made one complete video. We then watched it together as a class and completed the worksheet below. Students treated this like a quiz/exam as it was my summative assessment of their Shadow Knowledge.

Light & Shadow Art Piece
As part of the end of our Light and Shadow unit we created a Light and Shadow themed art piece. Students picked a winter themed drawing to create and colour, once they did that they created their drawings shadow on the other side of their paper. The pictures below are the steps my students went through.

KSA's Addressed
KSA:
A-On this page I have provided many different unit plans and lesson plans all in which have reflections on how the lesson went. Within these lessons I have explained how some lessons didn't go as well as others and how I took different variables into consideration. For example we have had a few indoor recesses and that plays a role on classroom dynamics. In those cases I have tried to understand that my teaching has to take that into consideration and be a bit more accommodating.
B-Above are a few pieces of evidence of feedback I have received from different roles within the school system.
C-On this page there are various pieces of evidence that demonstrate the use of different programs of studies. The framing of these units have been created in a way that have been based from these different programs of studies. Within each unit/lesson plan the program of study played a major role in the development of each plan.
D-The concepts that are within these different unit plans and lesson plans have all been taken from the program of study to guide the planning process.
E-Within the unit plans and lesson plans there is evidence of different modes of learning. Each lesson incorporates different methods of learning that lean toward Kinesthetic, visual, direct, collaboration and auditorial.
F-This page demonstrates the different lengths of planning that I have continued with throughout this practicum. There are long term unit plans and short term lesson plans that have switched or altered due to classroom dynamics.
G-Each of the individual lesson plans have included different routines that have been followed, whether that included meeting on the carpet or setting the expectations for transitioning into activities.
H-On this page I have a section on student gifts. These are all gifts that students have made for me and I have graciously accepted each gift letting each child know how grateful I am to receive a gift so special.
I-Throughout each unit plan I have put extra thought into using different approaches to teaching and learning. I have used various materials to provide different opportunities for my students to learn. This included using technology, hands-on activities, and creating meaningful projects.
J-Within my unit plans I have tried to embed technology where I can. I have searched for valuable and reliable resources to use in the classroom to promote student learning.
K-For assessment I have included unit assessments on this page. Each have been different activities that have varied from projects to tests. All of these assessments have been directly related back to the program of study to assess for curriculum outcomes.
L-As for engaging parents we have a seesaw account where parents can see images and be contacted with on upcoming projects or tests. These have been updated so that parents can see what students have been working on and to get upcoming events. We also send out email reminders for any tests a week prior to any tests.
M-Parents have been contacted at the beginning of the year with positive updates on their child. This helped us connect back home in a positive way before any other emails were to be made. We also keep in contact with parents when there are upcoming tests.
O-Each lesson plan has a section for reflections and how the lesson went and what changes that could be made. There are also links to some of the feedback I have received. I also have a Teacher Professional Growth Plan page for this year. The link is below:
