ABOUT
My name is Rebecca Delauw, I have graduated from the University of Lethbridge with two degrees; Bachelor of Education and Bachelor of Arts. My majors are Physical Education and General Social Sciences, focusing in Psychology and Sociology.
I grew up in Fort McMurray with my three younger siblings. We all loved being active growing up and still love to do active activities together. These activities include Ringette, Snowboarding, Basketball, Water Sports and many others. Another specific interest of mine that has given me numerous experiences, is dance. I have been on the University of Lethbridge's dance team for four years which included being Captain of the team. I have my Dancepl3y certificate to teach kids how to play with dance while learning physical literacy.
I have previously worked for a company called Shine Kids Fitness where I got to lead multiple weeks of summer camps and my own Dancepl3y classes. This gives me the opportunity to work with kids ages
3-9 years old.
Currently I am a full time Grade 3 Teacher at Saint Anne School. I look forward to this experience to learn and grow as a teacher, as well as help my students grow in all aspects of school and life.

Past Educational Experiences
I have had some great past experiences through my practicums. My first practicum was in grade 1 at Senator Buchanan Elementary School. This gave me a lot of teaching experiences as it made me realize that we can be teaching topics that some students have never done before. My teacher mentor was also very resourceful which allowed me to see different creative activities to do with younger students.
My second practicum was teaching Physical Education to the grades K-6 at Raymond Elementary School. This was also a great experience for me as I was able to see multiple age groups and we taught every single gym class.
My final practicum was teaching Grade 4 at St. Kateri Elementary School in Fort McMurray. This experience has allowed me to gain more specific experience in a fourth grade classroom. By having a four month long practicum it allowed me to see the set-up at the beginning of the school year as well as building classroom routines.
Volunteer Experience
I have recently volunteered with a local U12 Ringette team. Volunteering my time with these athletes has been very rewarding to see them grow as athletes. It gives me another opportunity to give back to my community and to make connections with others outside of school.
I also have offered to volunteer for the different sports teams that my school offers.
Also being a Dancepl3y instructor I have offered to run a couple classes during indoor recesses. I also like to incorporate Just Dances through Youtube in the gym during the winter season.
